Strings sprang from a sensation of sitting in a room and overhearing a faint melody played by an unseen musician from somewhere nearby. In Strings the music and the song are never identified.  I follow this mysterious, and alluring, sound around the globe, as it finds a home in a select group of instruments.

Slowly the words to describe the sensations appeared…
